Stories of Support, Strength,
and Community

Behind every diagnosis is a family learning how to navigate change, uncertainty, caregiving, and everyday life in a new way. And behind every family, there should be a community willing to show up. At Touched By ALS, impact is not measured only in numbers. It’s measured in conversations that ease isolation, meals shared at community gatherings, volunteers who continue to return year after year, and families who discover they do not have to face ALS alone. Across Upstate South Carolina, we are building a support network grounded in compassion, dignity, and human connection.

No Family Should Face ALS Alone

Every act of support contributes to something larger than a single event or donation. It helps families feel connected during isolating seasons. It creates opportunities for caregivers to find encouragement. It strengthens local awareness and compassion throughout the community. It reminds people facing ALS that others are willing to walk beside them. Whether someone gives financially, volunteers their time, attends an event, shares resources, or simply helps spread awareness, each contribution strengthens the support system for families across the Upstate. Community grows one relationship at a time.

The Impact of Our Past Events

Every event tells a story.

Some bring families together for a few hours of connection and encouragement. Others raise awareness, introduce new volunteers, or help strengthen the support network surrounding ALS families across the Upstate. What remains after each event is more than photographs or attendance numbers. It is the feeling of being seen, supported, and part of a community that continues to show up.

From awareness gatherings and fundraisers to volunteer events and community celebrations, these moments reflect the heart of Touched By ALS. They remind us that support often begins with people simply coming together.

As our organization continues to grow, these events become part of our shared story. They represent relationships formed, memories created, and the ongoing commitment to ensuring no family faces ALS alone.
