Life with ALS is unpredictable. This program provides one-time emergency assistance when families face urgent or unexpected expenses. This program is designed to respond quickly when families experience a financial crisis that threatens patient safety, stability, or continuity of care.
Purpose
ALS often brings sudden and unpredictable challenges. Families may encounter emergency expenses, gaps in insurance coverage, or short-term financial crises that require immediate support. This program exists to bridge those critical gaps, ensuring families can respond to urgent needs without sacrificing dignity or safety.
Application & Review Process
1 Application Submission
- Family completes Emergency Assistance Request Form
- Documentation of urgent need provided when available
2 Expedited Review
- Applications reviewed promptly by Touched By ALS leadership
- Priority given to time-sensitive and safety-related needs
3 Decision & Notification
- Families notified as quickly as possible, typically within 5–7 business days
4 Disbursement
- Funds released immediately upon approval and receipt of necessary payment details
Sustainability
This program is supported through:

- Community fundraising events
- Individual donors and emergency appeal campaigns
